  • We rejoice with Dave and Jana Haglund that his brother-in-law, Tracy Anderson, successfully received a lung transport on Sunday night, April 15,
  • Al Mennega continues to recuperate in the respite room at Crown Pointe.
  • Allan Bolkema underwent surgery in Dakota Dunes on Thursday, April 19 to repair a broken bone in his shoulder suffered during a seizure on Friday afternoon, April 13. At the same time on Thursday, Janna Bolkema will underwent a PET scan at Avera McKennan in Sioux Falls. She then anticipates undergoing surgery on Monday morning, April 23. We pray for Allan and Janna and their family in this incredibly trying time.
  • Our prayers are with the Dorman Koel family as they mourn his passing on Wednesday April 18. We pray for God’s peace to surround Dorman’s family, including his Bethel family: daughter Gloria and Denny Hoekstra, grandson Mike Hoekstra, brother-in-law Lyle and Joan Vande Kamp, and sister-in-law Joleen and Jim Vermeer. Funeral arrangements are still pending, but tentatively visitation will be Sunday and the funeral will likely be Monday at Jurrens funeral home in Rock Rapids.
  • Curt De Koning will be underwent a shoulder biopsy on Thursday, April 19 to determine if his shoulder is strong enough for surgery. If so, he anticipates surgery on his left shoulder on May 10.
  • Happy Birthday to Martha Goslinga who will be celebrating her 98th birthday on Saturday, April 28!
  • We continue to join our community in praying for different local congregations.  This week be in prayer for the First Reformed Church and the ministry of Pastor Travis Else and Pastor Jamie Dykstra.

  • We pray for God’s comfort for our missionaries in Spain, Kelly and April Crull, in a season of grief. Kelly’s grandma Phyllis Kelley of Sioux Center passed away on May 14 at age 100. The funeral will be on Tuesday, May 21 at the Sioux Center United Reformed Church. April’s special aunt Frances Te Grootenhuis of Orange City passed away on May 11 at age 87. The funeral was on Friday, May 17 at the Newkirk Reformed Church.
  • We praise God with Dave and Margret Van Donkelaar that doctors in Sioux Falls were able to get the lung samples they needed with a scope and did not need to do an incision on Wednesday, May 15. We pray for a return home and full recovery from this procedure, as well as for clarity from the results of testing on these samples.
  • Jesse Hulshof underwent testing at the University of Iowa on Wednesday, May 15. We are thankful that, for the first time in two years, his lung function moved in the positive direction. The Hulshofs anticipate trips back to Iowa City every 6 weeks.
  • We pray for John Vreugdenhil and his family as he is growing weaker in these days.
  • We pray for God’s blessing and leading for each of our students who will be graduating from area schools in this week. Our High School graduating seniors are: Chase Alexander, Justin Bleeker, Jori Bronner, Damon Dekkers, Brandon Draayer, Lucas Dubblede, Emma Gulker, Jordan Moget, Shelby Riebeling, and Emma Schaap.
  • We continue to join our community in praying for different local congregations. This week, we will be in prayer for the Church of Christ congregation. We pray for Pastor Dustin Bolks.
